Waltham Forest
Our Cycle Sisters Waltham Forest group runs rides on Wednesday and Saturday mornings during term-time.
As long as you can pedal, balance and steer, you are welcome on our rides! We have a team of friendly and supportive Ride Leaders who run the rides and make sure that everyone is safe and taken care of! We ride at a gentle, sociable pace with plenty of chatting and time to enjoy our surroundings. All our rides have a cafe stop which is also an opportunity to get to know your fellow sisters as well as enjoying some tea and cake!
Booking is essential for all our rides and details are posted on our WhatsApp group - email walthamstow@cyclesisters.org.uk to be added to our WhatsApp group.
All our Waltham Forest group rides start from either Lloyd Park, Leyton Jubilee Park or Low Hall Depot (near St James’ Park) and we have a limited number of free bikes available to lend out for our rides courtesy of Waltham Forest Council.
Our Wednesday rides are a 9.15am meet for a 9.30am start and are mostly intermediate rides (6-12 miles) with some occasional longer challenge rides (12+ miles).
Our Saturday rides are a 9.45am meet for a 10am start and we offer beginner rides (3- 6 miles) on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, and intermediate rides (6-12 miles) on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.
Typical destinations include Walthamstow Wetlands, Olympic Park, Victoria Park, Valentines Park, Wanstead Park, Highams Park, Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge, East London Mosque and Woodberry Wetlands.
“If it wasn’t for Cycle Sisters I would never have tried cycling. The lycra wearing typical cyclist was just so far removed from me. Cycle Sisters has completely changed my attitude to cycling”
