Volunteers wanted for Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets & Waltham Forest weekend rides

Updated: Dec 18, 2021

We are looking for sisters to train as volunteer Ride Leaders in Hackney, Newham and Waltham Forest and play a part as role models and cycling champions.

The volunteer Ride Leaders will help run weekend rides for our existing Cycle Sisters groups in these boroughs.

In Hackney we are setting up new fortnightly weekend rides on Saturday mornings starting from Hackney Downs so we are looking for sisters to help establish these rides.

In Newham and Tower Hamlets we are looking for sisters to support our established weekly Sunday morning rides.

In Waltham Forest we are looking for sisters to support our established weekly Saturday morning rides.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your cycling skills as well as share your passion for cycling with other Muslim women. You don't need to be an expert cyclist, just confident at cycling on the roads and comfortable up to a distance of 10 miles. You'll receive free training and ongoing support and development in the role.

Please make sure you've read the information about being a Ride Leader here before applying.

Applicants would need to be able to commit to leading 2 rides per month for at least one year. You'll also need to be able to attend the training elements which involves some online modules, a day British Cycling Ride Leader training (date TBC in Feb 2022), a basic bike maintenance course and first aid (if not already a first aid certificate holder).

To apply, please complete this form.

The deadline for applying is midnight, Wednesday 12th January 2022.
